Damjanovich - Downtown Bozeman Improvement PlanFrom:Heidi (Kalina) Damjanovich To:Agenda Subject:downtown Bozeman improvment project Date:Wednesday, April 24, 2019 9:38:20 AM To Whom it May Concern: I was watching the news a couple of weeks ago and they were discussing the proposals for the downtown Bozeman improvement project. I have some thoughts I would like to share. On the news they discussed making downtown 3 lanes and creating angular parking. I do not think this is the best use of space and traffic flow. Bozeman is getting busier by the minute. We need 4 lanes with 2 lanes per direction. Cutting it down to one lane per direction would slow down the flow of traffic. Angular parking could get quite messy. It would be difficult for both the traffic and the parker. The person parked would have difficulty backing up into on coming traffic and the traffic flow would be interrupted as they waited for a person to back up. I feel this plan would cause congestion and frustration on residents and visitors. Thank you for hearing and considering my concerns. I do not have any suggestions at this point of a different option. I do suggest that snow removal and plowing be taken more seriously on downtown Main. Main street needs to be plowed more often and the pile of snow in the middle of the road needs to be removed. I feel it is a hazzard to drivers. March heavy snow brought difficult driving on Main street. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Heidi
