Good morning City Commissioners,
I have read through the Overview Summary of the 2019 Downtown Bozeman Improvement
Plan and I am in full support of this plan. I am especially in support of the three lane Mainstreet proposal (added parking, no loss of volume), the protected bike lanes to encourage safe
bike commenting, and the Fairgrounds/Streamline commuter parking lot situation.
I am also very interested in the density of downtown and Bozeman as a whole. I encourageyou all as city commissioners to re-do zoning in both downtown Bozeman and across the city
as a whole to encourage people with basements and ADUs to rent those out instead of leavingthem empty. This would work to create affordable housing in mass quantity, benefiting both
the rentees and the renters, and it would create affordable housing options in traditionallyunaffordable neighborhoods. Yay diversity. Obviously parking would have to be taken into
consideration, but I urge you to consider creating more density in affluent neighborhoods inaddition to building new residences.
