Dear Mayor and Commission
The Northern Rocky Mountain EDD has long supported the effort to offer broadband as a cost
effective and sustainable option for the City of Bozeman. Early in the process we secured
$30,000 in planning monies from the Economic Development Administration to help with the
feasibility study and NRMEDD staff served on the project stakeholder team.
The City has made great strides with its fiber project,but it has reached a critical stage in its
development where commitment is necessary to assure it success. We support a resolution that
declares broadband as an essential infrastructure. We hold also that broadband service is vitally
essential and that expanding delivery of internet to the wider community ranks on par with
other key utilities such as water, sewer, and stormwater.
With this letter we commit our continued administrative support to the City in this important
effort.
