While I get the need to increase fees to pay for growth related to infrastructure, increasing fees on single-family homes in the 1400-1500 square foot range will just make those homes even more out of reach for middle-income residents such as myself. Why not increase the fees significantly more for 2,000+ square feet, $500k+ homes so that builders are encouraged to build more starter homes. As a working professional who has lived here for 5 years, I am considering moving away because home prices are not within my reach anymore and buying a home would put me at significant financial risk. I am one of the "lucky" ones with a $37k down payment and a relatively higher income for Bozeman, yet still can barely afford a home. Thank you for your time.
