Rouse Ave. Bozeman, MT First Name Max Last Name Shchemelinin Email Address mshchem@gmail.com Phone Number Not answered Comments These last two winters Bozeman public works has handled snow removal with extreme incompetence. Firstly, instead of using conventional snow plows the city used graders, a tool designed to smooth a dirt surface. This resulted in extremely slick sheet ice streets lacking any gravel for traction. Second the snow plowing operations occurred without a warning for people to move their cars out of curbside parking, as is the custom with fall leaf removal. As a result many street parking spots are now inaccessible, forcing people who are unable to park off the street to park closer to the driving lanes. And finally, this winter in particular at least several vehicles that I am aware of were damaged by city employees during snow removal work. This level of incompetence and negligence is unacceptable from a city government. I believe that the city needs to compensate anyone with a damaged vehicle for complete repair costs, and compensate those unable to access needed parking for their inconvenience. Finally, I will be perusing a petition to recall the city commissioners and other elected city government members for a constant inability to manage Bozeman's rapid growth. Anyone displaying this level of ineptitude at a senior position in a private company would have been fired long ago.
