Dear Mayor Andrus and Parking Commission members,
I am writing to encourage you to vote in favor of the MSU RPPD expansion request at the
February 14, 2019 Parking Commission meeting.
As a resident of South 6th Avenue for the past 15 years, I’ve seen an increase in traffic and
congestion around Cooper Park, primarily driven by MSU overflow parking. This has had a
negative impact on public safety and emergency access, especially in the winter months.
Residential parking districts have been used successfully by many cities across the US to
mitigate the effects of increased traffic and congestion. The RPPDs are the primary means that
the city of Bozeman uses to help its citizens with this issue. Please allow us to join the district
and keep our neighborhoods safe.
