Action Items 1. 09:01:34 AM (00:01:34) NCOD Review Project (Discussion) HPAB members discussed the timeline of the current NCOD Review. 09:10:46 AM (00:10:46) Historic Preservation Specialist and staff liaison, Phil Gonzalez notified the board that the City intends to have an RFP for the Historic Inventory Update out prior to the Commission hearing for the NCOD review. Board members then discussed how they or interested citizens may be involved in the inventory process in order to decrease costs. 09:22:37 AM (00:22:37) Board members discussed the importance of the historic inventory being updated as it affects so many aspects of historic preservation. 09:34:02 AM (00:34:02) Board members discussed their current role and their desire to review projects to provide a Historic Preservation perspective. 2. 09:53:48 AM (00:53:48) The Downtown Improvement Plan (Discussion) Board members discussed how to incorporate historic heritage and culture to the Downtown Bozeman Improvement Plan. Board members continued by discussing why downtown attracts community members and what attracts community members to specific neighborhoods in other cities. 3. 10:38:40 AM (01:38:40) Willson Project (Discussion) Board members held a work session to discuss 16 properties that have been identified as possible candidates to include in a proposed historic district to honor Bozeman’s historic architect, Fed Willson. 4. 12:07:34 PM (03:07:34) Preservation Awards (Discussion) Board members discussed the logistics of the 2019 Historic Preservation Award event, including potential candidates, nomination categories and when to hold the event. Members agreed that May is the best month as it is Historic Preservation month. 12:26:32 PM (03:26:32) Board members discussed the award nomination process and how to increase public participation by better explaining the award process. 12:30:24 PM (03:30:24) The group divided tasks and assigned roles and responsibilities for Historic Preservation Award Planning. Discussion was primarily focused on venue and catering options. 12:48:52 PM (03:48:52) Board members discussed the role of the Commission Liaison and how they can increase Commission involvement with the board.
