REPORT TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commission
FROM: Frank Greenhill, Stormwater Program Specialist
Kyle Mehrens, Stormwater Program Coordinator
Andrea Surratt, City Manager
SUBJECT: First Addendum to the Professional Services Agreement with Altitude Training
Associates, LLC for contractor training services
MEETING DATE: February 11, 2019
AGENDA ITEM TYPE: Consent
RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the City Manager to sign the First Addendum to the
Professional Services Agreement with Altitude Training Associates, LLC for contractor training
services, whereby extending the contract term for one year.
BACKGROUND: The Stormwater Division (Division) provides erosion, sediment, and
pollutant control training for construction professionals to improve industry compliance with
local, state, and federal stormwater regulations.
Altitude Training Associates, LLC (Consultant) has provided six trainings under an existing
Professional Services Agreement (PSA), effective March 21, 2017, through March 21, 2019. If
both the City and Consultant mutually agree, Section 21 of the PSA allows for a one-year
extension, which would be authorized by the execution of the attached First Addendum.
Continuation of training efforts allows the Division to further its work in providing educational
opportunities and compliance solutions for those impacted by stormwater regulations.
The other terms of the PSA will remain the same.
UNRESOLVED ISSUES: None
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the Commission.
FISCAL EFFECTS: The Division pays for training using funds allocated in its operating
budget and recuperates some of the cost by charging attendance fees. The Division budgeted
$5,000 to cover the cost of two training courses in FY19.
