Previously, as a community-based planner for The Trust for Public Land, I engaged with communities, - both
large and small - to create active transportation plans. This included creating community-based plans for
Taos, New Mexico; Bonner County, Idaho; New Brunswick, New Jersey; Lake Chelan, Washington; and
Houston, Texas. The 18-month community-based planning process included community meetings,
community surveys, and robust stakeholder meetings with planners to create active transportation plans. I
am extremely interested in helping out in my own community to enhance and promote active
transportation, and would be a highly motivated board member eager to help conduct outreach and
education in Bozeman.

Please explain your relevant qualifications, interests and experiences:
My qualifications can be divided into two categories: professional and personal. Professionally, I am a civil
engineering working for the Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) in Road Design which falls
under the Highways and Engineering division. I have worked for the Department for over four years and
have taken a particular interest in discovering ways that we can improve multimodal transportation.
Although my position does not allow for higher level policy and decision-making, I have had the opportunity
to work on several Transportation Alternative (TA) funded projects such as multi-use paths and ADA
upgrades for pedestrian facilities. My personal qualification consist of being an avid, year-round bike
commuter in Bozeman. I have witnessed first-hand many of the strengths and weaknesses the city's
infrastructure has and would love to be a part of making the system overall more user-friendly and
functional.

How did you hear about this board or vacancy?
Recommended to me by aquaintances in the Bozeman cycling community.
Is there any other information that you feel we need to know?
I have spoken to the chief auditor at MDT regarding potential conflict of interest with me working on
projects located within Bozeman and participating on the board. If I am selected for BABAB, I will notify
MDT's chief auditor of my role to mitigate the risk of issues in the future. I appreciate your consideration of
me for this opportunity. If selected, I would love to use this as a chance to collaborate with others in the
community to keep Bozeman one of the greatest places on earth!
