RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN,
. MONTANA, APPROVING HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN.
WHEREAS, all citizens and property within the City of Bozeman are at risk from
a wide range of hazards such as, but not limited to, aviation accidents, bioterrorism, civil
umest, communicable disease, drought, earthquake, extended cold, flooding, ground
transportation accidents, hazardous materials release, railroad accidents, severe
thunderstorms, terrorism, tornadoes, urban fire, utility outage, violence, volcano, wildfire,
wind, and winter storms; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bozeman, pursuant to Section 322, Mitigation Planning,
of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, enacted by
Section 104 of the Disaster Mitigation Act of2000 (P _L. 106-390) and the Interim Final
Rule published in the Federal Registry on February 26, 2002 at 44 CFR Part 201, is
required to have an approved Hazard Mitigation Plan in order to receive future federal
disaster mitigation funds.
WHEREAS, the Hazard Mitigation Plan dated February 2006 and attached
hereto as Exhibit A and which is incorporated by this reference as though fully set forth
herein, will guide the City of Bozeman in making decisions for pre-disaster and post-
disaster mitigation projects.
. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Commission of the City
of Bozeman, Montana, as follows:
That the City Commission hereby adopts the Hazard Mitigation Plan dated
February 2006 and attached hereto as Exhibit A.
