HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 3915 Intent to Pursue Adoption of a Mutually Acceptable Interlocal Agreement COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 3915 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, REGARDING INTENT TO PURSUE ADOPTION OF A MUTUALLY ACCEPT ABLE INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WHEREAS, *7-11-101 MCA, enables local governmental units through the Interlocal Cooperation Act "to make the most efficient use of their powers" through cooperation with other local governmental units "on a basis of mutual advantage and thcreby to provide services and facilities in a manner and pursuant to forms of governmental organization that will accord best with geographic, economic, population, and other factors influencing the needs and development of local communities;" and WHEREAS, it is the purpose of Chapter 1, Title 76 of Montana Codes Annotated, Planning Boards, to encourage local units of government to improve the present health, safety, convenience, and welfare of their citizens and to plan for the future development of their communities; and WHEREAS, the commissioners of Gallatin County and the City of Bozeman recognize both the necessity and the value of working cooperatively in matters of comprehensive land use policy, particularly as the region experiences record growth. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana: That the City of Bozeman agrce to pursue adoption of an Interlocal Agreement with the Commissioners of Gallatin County that may include but not be limited to: a policy for annexations, development standards, and transfer of development rights program. Such agreement includes establishment of a schedule for such Agreement to be completcd by December 31, 2006.
