HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-24-08 Parking Commission Minutes Bozeman Parking Commission Meeting April 24, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. Upstairs Conference Room of City Hall Parking Commissioners in Attendance: Steve Schnee Tammy Hauer Chris Pope Paul Burns Lisa Danzl Scott City Staff in Attendance: Shannon Manning, Parking Clerk Laurae Clark, Treasurer James Goehrung, Superintendent of Facilities Anna Rosenberry, Director of Finance Guests in Attendance: Chris Naumann- DBA Director Action Items:  Shannon will be getting a list to be added to the current spreadsheet on how many people are occupying the garages at our surrounding cities.  Shannon will be gathering information on the current permit holders in the lots. Also calling and seeing which people if any will be moving to the garage, which currently hold permits. Anna went over how we will be changing the parking fund situation and just putting it all into one fund together but with three separate divisions. There will be an Admin. Division which will include the parking clerk and also the new manager. The operation divisions which will include things like maintenance, and finally the garage division which will be all of the garage fees. Total without the garage expenses are estimated to be $260,000. The income that we are expecting to receive will be coming from four separate items. They include all of the parking permits, parking fines, administration revenue which will be things like interest earnings and municipal infractions. The final one will be the garage revenue. The expected income, without garage revenue is $270,000. The parking permits were discussed a little bit and the idea got brought up to change the leases on them at first to make them 6 month leases instead of the 12 months at which they are at right now. This will have to be discussed at a further meeting. The spaces in the garage were also mentioned by Paul and Steve to the fact that will the garage be filling up with permit holders, or do we need to change the Black lot to make it 2 hour parking only. This was just a suggestion and in the future when we look up the figures and set the prices then we will come back to this item at that time. The Manager position for the garage was also talked about. The idea came up to possibly start advertising for this position on July 1, 2008. This will be confirmed at a later meeting. This information will be put on a list to also be sent with this meeting information as well.
