Mr. Meece,
I am writing because I was informed by Tanya Andreasen that you have now changed theprocess for adding to the MSU Residential Parking Permit District just as we are nearing
completion of our Cooper Park request for addition. When we contacted you this past fall, youdescribed the process for adding to the RPPD. We complied with your requests and have
submitted our petition to you in a timely manner.
During the December Parking Commission meeting, you stated that you would present ourpetition at the January 2019 meeting. Now that seems to have changed as well. You’ve added
more steps to the process, like an occupancy count and local survey. Neither of these willchange the status of our petition, as this fall you told us you’d already been to Cooper Park
multiple times and seen the congestion issue personally. We have submitted photos to youdetailing the congestion. Further, we have 100% agreement on our block with all homeowners
signing the petition, so a survey isn’t going to provide new information.
I am requesting that you present our petition to the January 2019 Parking Commissionmeeting as you stated you would. It is misleading that after four months you’ve decided
to change the process and apply new and different expectations to a group that is alreadynearing the end of an existing process.
Again, please allow us to finish the process we started. Further delay is not going to change
the fact that a large majority of the houses in our area are asking to be added to the parkingdistrict. What do you hope to gain with further administrative complication and delay?
Respectfully,
Lexi Gulbranson MD
