Recommendation: Authorize the City Manager to sign Amendment No. 3 to Professional
Services Agreement dated November 16, 2015 with Morrison-Maierle Inc. for design services
for the Sunset Hills Cemetery and Lindley Park Water Conservation Project. Background: This project will conserve potable water supplies currently being used for
irrigation at Sunset Hills Cemetery and Lindley Park, reduce safety risks to city staff associated
with the existing diversion structure on Bozeman Creek, and increase instream flows for fish
habitat in Bozeman Creek. Estimated water savings realized upon completion of the Project total
1,141 Acre Feet.1
The scope of this project includes the construction of a pump system to be located near the
Church St. parking lot for Burke Park. The purpose of the pump system is to pump water from
Mill (Story) Ditch to the Sunset Hills Cemetery irrigation system where it will be used to irrigate
the cemetery, resulting in the conservation of potable water that is currently being used to irrigate this area. In order to reduce overall construction costs for this project, the original pump house design needs to be modified to include a pump enclosure. This, as well as a few additional minor
design revisions, will achieve construction cost savings that allow the City to move forward with
this project while staying within budget.
Alternatives: As suggested by the Commission.
Fiscal Effects: Total project costs to the Cemetery Irrigation Project CIP General Fund (GF
231) for this work are not to exceed $6,740.00.
