SUBJECT: 3rd and Graf Intersection Improvements Project – Professional Services Agreement.

RECOMMENDATION: Approve and authorize City Manager to sign the Professional Services
Agreement with Sanderson Stewart.
BACKGROUND: Attached is a copy of the partially executed Professional Services
Agreement with Sanderson Stewart for the 3rd and Graf Intersection Improvements Project. The
document is in the City’s standard format.
In December of 2017, the City entered into an Agreement with Sanderson Stewart to provide
Engineering services for improvements to the intersection of South 3rd and Graf Street. That agreement only included the predesign phase which was to determine the type of intersection control to be installed at the intersection. As a result of that effort, installation of a roundabout
was the chosen alternative. Typically, the existing contract would be amended to add the design
phase services. In this case, the City’s standard Professional Services Agreement has been
updated since the original document was executed. A new updated agreement is being executed to add the design services instead of the normal amendment. The FY18 Capital Improvement Plan included $150,000 for the design of this project. The predesign services totaled $43,545.
The addition of the design services will bring this total to $123,865.
UNRESOLVED ISSUES: None
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission
FISCAL EFFECTS: $80,320 from the Street Impact Fee Fund (project SIF131).
