PSA with Sanderson Stewart for Oak and 27th Intersection Improvements Commission Memorandum REPORT TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commission FROM: Bob Murray, Project Engineer SUBJECT: Oak and 27th Intersection Improvements Project – Professional Services Agreement. MEETING DATE: December 17th, 2018 AGENDA ITEM TYPE: Consent RECOMMENDATION: Approve and authorize City Manager to sign the Professional Services Agreement with Sanderson Stewart. BACKGROUND: Attached is a copy of the partially executed Professional Services Agreement with Sanderson Stewart for the Oak and 27th Intersection Improvements Project. The document is in the City’s standard format. In March of 2016, a corridor study for Oak Street from Rouse to Cottonwood was reviewed and adopted by the Commission. A number of the recommended improvements from the study have been constructed. The next scheduled improvement is for the installation of a traffic signal along with some geometric improvements to the intersection of Oak and 27th. The geometric improvements consist of widening of the east leg of the intersection to provide a dedicated left-turn lane, through lane, and a shared through/right-turn lane. A Request for Proposals for the engineering services was published in the Bozeman Daily Chronicle on August 12th and 19th, with the proposals being due on September 7th. Proposals were received from 2 firms on the project which were distributed to a selection committee of 3 city employees. The written proposals were scored by the selection committee and Sanderson Stewart was selected the most qualified to complete the project. UNRESOLVED ISSUES: None ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission FISCAL EFFECTS: $58,095 from the Street Impact Fee and Arterial and Collector District Funds (Project SIF058).
