HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-16-18 Galavan / Streamline Advisory Board CORRECTED MinutesStreamline Advisory Board Minutes - corrected October 16, 2018 HRDC Board Room Attendees: Cara Priem, Todd Fahlstrom, Suzanne Winchester, Heather Grenier, Sunshine Ross, Terry Aldrich, Seth Ward, David Kack, Bill Hoch, Marianne Brough Future meeting minutes should be submitted to agenda@bozeman.net MSU On-Campus Shuttle Demo – per David Kack , ASMSU is pushing to have the transportation fee raised to fund an on campus shuttle/circulator bus. A demo is planned for the spring but the route and timing still needs to be determined. Possible future funding could be $50k each from ASMSU and MSU to start. Per Marianne Brough, since the campus expanded across 19th, she is optimistic funds will be approved. They want to increase the student transportation fees but multiple levels of approval will need to be granted. This has to be completed by January. Once the shuttle pilot plan has been created they will present it to the Student Senate. Mid-Town Update – per David Kack, The city commissioners are working on a multimodal transportation plan. Streamline would need to create/change bus routes to help make this happen. Next Meeting – November 27 Director's report - a)Sunshine Ross reported on the workshop training in August. It was a 2 day affair and included a bus tour of Affordable housing, 3 presenters ( from Boise, the mayor from Meridian, Mississippi, & a Native American planner). There were 35 participants. b) Possible future funding from Gallatin College for seasonal runs. c)the Operations Committee needs to be scheduled. d) The new Galavan bus should be here November 5 e) they need to hire a new driver, they are currently interviewing and have had 2 applicants so far. Marianne Brough said when she worked in Utah she went to the Job Corps to recruit for drivers. Treasurer's report - David Kack reported that $53k is in reserves for Galavan year end 2018 along with $110k in reserve for Streamline. We are in the 2nd year of our Federal funding. The city parking division is still looking at remodeling the downtown transfer area. Construction is to start soon. Late Night - Marianne Brough reported that the ASMSU Senate wants to look at new routes For the Good of the Bus – David Kack has asked the county commissioners to place on the ballot a proposal for a Big Sky transportation district to generate additional funds in the future should the federal funding go away in 2020.
