Subject:Please Allow WinCo to Proceed with Building a Store in Bozeman
Categories:Public Comment
Dear Commissioners and Concerned Parties,
My husband and I are Bozeman residents and are pleading with you to please proceed with WinCo Foods opening a
grocery store in Bozeman. Please throw out this latest appeal and go forward with WinCo's approval.
Our family and the other families in Bozeman and the surrounding towns would benefit greatly from a WinCo grocery
store coming to Bozeman. I shop at WinCo whenever I am in a town that has one because no other grocery store in
Bozeman can compare. The quality of produce, meats, and bulk food items as well as WinCo's outstanding prices are
better than any of their competitors. I think this is why the group is appealing (UFCW) and they are afraid of a real
competitor. I disagree with the group (UFCW) who is appealing the approval of WinCo and see their appeal as only
serving themselves and not the greater good of our entire community. WinCo grocery stores is an employee owned
chain and it would add needed jobs to the area as well as a needed low price competitor to the other grocery chains that
are already here. Why is it fair or even legal to keep one store out of a Bozeman and allow other grocery stores to
operate? Their weak arguments of traffic and ruining a small town no longer applies to Bozeman. WinCo will help all of
us in the Bozeman/Belgrade area save money and eat better which is in the best interest of all of us.
Please allow WinCo Foods to continue their building a grocery store in Bozeman.
Thank You,
Rebecca and Jeffrey Himsl
