HomeMy WebLinkAboutCommunity Plan update memo 11-20-18 TO: PLANNING BOARD AND ZONING COMMISSION FROM: TOM ROGERS RE: GROWTH POLICY UPDATE – COMMUNITY PLAN DRAFT OUTLINE, THEMES, COMMUNITY FEEDBACK SUMMARY, AND DRFAT QUESTIONS FOR PHASE 3 AND PUBLIC MEETING ON NOVEMBER 29, 2018 DATE: NOVEMBER 20, 2018 The purpose of the joint meeting with the Zoning Commission and Planning Board is provide a brief update on the progress of the community plan update and provide the Planning Board draft documents anticipating the next phase of the plan. Staff felt it was appropriate to involve the Zoning Commission at this stage for education and anticipating future implementation efforts. Phase 2 of the community plan update is nearing completion. The City wide themes are further refined and attached to this memo for your reference. A draft Phase 2 summary is complete and also is attached to this memo. As the project enters the next phase of development we have prepared a number of documents to facilitate that effort for your review and consideration. These documents include opportunity drawings that illustrate some community desires, opportunity questions for the next questionnaire and public events, a draft outline for the plan, and other supporting documents listed below. Staff is continuing to review these materials and they will be altered before the meetings on the 20th and 29th. Please mark your calendar for the Thursday, November 29, 2018 public event. The event will at the Bozeman Library large meeting room. Although details are evolving we will begin with a general summary of the project, process and status followed by small group sessions and activities to better understand the themes. Attachments: 1.
