I am a resident of Baxter Meadows which borders the proposed project. I am
opposed to the R-4 zoning part of this request for the following reasons:
1. The area in question is surrounded by land that is zoned R-1 and the Sports
Park across the street.
2. It is wholly inappropriate for a spot-zoning to R-4. A more appropriate zoning
would allow fewer condos or apartments no higher than two stories. It is only
fair to the adjacent properties.
In addition, I would like to see the following policies applied to this development:
1. No cash in lieu for open/green space
2. The project does not claim the green space in Baxter Meadows
3. The developer makes an appropriate contribution to future improvements to the
Baxter Lane / Harper Puckett intersection.
