Thank you for allowing me to present the final report from the legislature interim committee on the lab
study. I did not have time to draw your attention to everything in the report and I hope you review this
report carefully. As I said during my presentation I am concerned with the possible transmission of deadly
pathogens into the Bozeman Waste Water Treatment plant. The sub-committee has recommended
upgrades to these lab facilities to protect human health and our environment. Also the legislature
Environmental Quality Council committee has also recommended upgrades to these labs. We certainly
don't know what other diseases and pathogens will be identified in the future and legislature believes these
labs are so important in being prepared going forward. As the chair of the sub-committee I am asking the
Bozeman City Commission to express support for updating these lab facilities. Our staff for the lab study is
Shauna Albrecht and if the Commission decides to support the lab updates, please send your support letter
to SAlbrecht@mt.gov
