The City has adopted local standards for public notice for zone map
amendments that exceed state requirements.The City also provides
additional channels through the website to shore information about
zone map amendments and other applications. Is the City
Commission satisfied with the current noticing standard?
The strategic plan and past City Commission actions have
encouraged zone map amendments that increase allowed intensity of
use.Chapter 3 of the Bozeman Community Plan describes the broad
land use designations for the future land use map.The residential land
use designation can be implemented by all zoning districts included in
Section 38.300.100.As staff interacts with applicants with new
annexations,vacant or undeveloped areas shall the staff encourage
application for more intensive zoning districts or those which most
closely match existing development on the site or on adjacent sites?

3)Spot zoning criterion 1 says:"Is the proposed use
significantly different from the prevailing land uses in the
area?"In the context of this question,Staff is of the opinion
that single detached homes through apartment buildings are
different configurations of the same essential activity,housing,
and therefore not significantly different from each other. Does
the Commission agree with this interpretation?
4)The staff prepares a report to the Commission for each Zone
Map Amendment to summarize the review process and
criteria.Are the reports to the Commission meeting the
Commission's needs for understanding the issues at hand fc
