FROM: Bob Murray, Project Engineer Rick Hixson, City Engineer SUBJECT: Durston and Cottonwood Roads Improvements Project – Amendment No.
6 to add the design phase services for Durston Road Improvements from Mineral Avenue to
Fowler Avenue.

RECOMMENDATION: Approve and authorize City Manager to sign Amendment No. 6 with
Robert Peccia and Associates.
BACKGROUND: Attached is a copy of the partially executed Amendment No. 6 with Robert Peccia and Associates for the Durston and Cottonwood Roads Improvements Project. The document is in the City’s standard format.
The original professional services agreement for the project only included the predesign task.
That task compared the installation of a roundabout and a signal at the intersections and provided
the corridor buildout recommendations. This amendment is to add the design phase services for Durston Road from Mineral Avenue to Fowler Avenue. The design for this section of the road will be incorporated in the already completed plans for Durston between Flanders Mill and Mineral Avenue including the roundabout at the Ferguson/Durston intersection. With that, all
improvements from Fowler to Flanders Mill we be completed under one construction
contract. The final recommended cost is reasonable and commensurate with the work involved.
UNRESOLVED ISSUES: None
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission
FISCAL EFFECTS: $96,900.00 from the Street Impact Fee and Arterial/Collector Fund.
