I am writing in protest to a zone map amendment proposal. The amendment application#18—323. To
rezone two existing plots from R-3 to R-5. Near Olove and S 16th Ave.
My-wife (Sally W.Johnson) and I (David A.Johnson0 are owners of property 06-0798-12-3-31-11-7011
210 S 16th Ave Unit A Bozeman Mt 59715 Maple Leaf Condo,S12, R05E, unit A. This property is within
150ft of the proposed zone change.
We believe a zoning change from R-3 to R-5 would adversely effect the neighborhood in at least 3 ways.
1. It would drastically effect the complexion of the neighborhood. Currently the area is low
keyed, simple. It is very quiet and casual. There is no high density or mixed use anywhere in
the area.
2. The road and especially the curve can handle the current traffic. R-5 zoning would add way
too many cars. Making traffic in the area excessive to the point of dangerous.
3. Finally, parking is a huge issue already. Most condos in the area provide 2 places to park but
many condos are 2 or more bedrooms and require 3-4 places. With no parking on the curve
residents are required to park far from there units on the street. High density housing will
add unbearably to this problem.
