Hi, I’m Matt Kittel, a 5th year student at Montana State University here in Bozeman.
First, thank you for taking the time to read my letter. I appreciate the accessibility of this opportunity to
voice a concern. The issue I would like to bring to light is that our (MSU’s) best engineering talent is, and
has been, flowing out of the state for jobs. What can the city do to retain this talent?
JPMorgan & Co. unveiled a $500 million initiative toward boosting economic growth in cities across the US.
Is Bozeman interested in submitting a proposal by their November deadline? Bozeman is one of the fastest
growing cities in Montana, if not the fastest. It would be strategic to ensure stability of such growth.
Perhaps winning a piece of JPMorgan’s initiative fund in aiding economic development could be used in a
way that creates more job opportunities for the STEM graduates here at MSU.
I am interested in learning more about how the city aligns itself with both the university and local industry.
And if there’s anything I can do to help.
