My office is located on that corner and i have witnessed several close calls in which a pedestrian is nearly hit by a car on South 19th avenue. I am writing this now as i just looked up and heard screeching tires to see a car hit another car because it was stopped for a person in that crossing. The crossing is poorly marked for the amount of traffic and speed of traffic at that location. I am sorry to say that i am afraid i will look up one day to see a pedestrian be actually hit by a car! I have seen a pick up truck actually jump the median to avoid a person in the cross walk, a car swerve and slam on its breaks, etc.... I bet a lot of these go unreported, but this must stop. I will also be discussing with MSU leadership, as i believe that many of these pedestrians are students of MSU. If this is not the appropriate channel for this feedback, please let me know and i can direct this to others in an more appropriate manner. Thank you, Nick P.S.- as I finish this comment I can hear sirens coming to the aid of the victims of the crash that occurred minutes ago.
