I would like to make a comment about the Kagy & Sourdough intersection. I know there are plans in the
works for improvement of Kagy Blvd, but I'm unsure on what the plan is for that intersection. I would
strongly encourage a roundabout be built here. The 2-way stop in place now causes severe backups with
cars waiting to turn left or go straight for up to 10 minutes at rush hour. It creates a dangerous situation
where cars rush through the intersection because they are tired of waiting. As a biker, I've been nearly hit
multiple times at that intersection because the cars are not paying attention to bikers or pedestrians.
They're busy looking at the steady stream of cars coming. I believe that a stoplight would cause similar
congestion and have traffic lines blocking driveways that come off of Sourdough. A roundabout would
ensure that traffic flows smoothly and remove the danger of rushing through the intersection and remove
long lines at the intersection. It would also be safer for bikers and pedestrians to cross.
Thank you,
City Of Bozeman
