Rouse Ave. Bozeman, MT First Name Barb Last Name Asper Email Address barbasper@hotmail.com Phone Number 406 539 8832 Comments I have noticed over the past two years (and reported to city workers) the proliferation of noxious weeds in the parks on the North side of Bozeman, particularly the north end of the Ponds park )near Lewis & Bark dog park, on the parking strip on Fowler right across from Urgent Care, and all along the trail between the Gallatin Valley Mall and Virginia Way. The spotted knapweed now takes up nearly the entire water way and the bridge to the northeast of the dog park. They are all in flower now, and will be spreading seeds soon. It looks terrible and is a danger to our riparian and rural areas. Moreover, Canadian Thistle has just about taken over portions of the Regional Park. The weeds have spread to Run Dog Run dog park as well. These are areas I frequent. I noticed that the walking trails were recently worked on in the area by GLVT volunteers. Couldn't volunteers be used to clean up some of this mess? As a private citizen, I am required to keep my property free of noxious weeds. Why doesn't the City hold itself responsible?
