To Whom it may concern:
I have many concerns regarding the lack of a solid plan for the changes to the existing high school. The fact that the
current plan for the stadium, auditorium and expansion has insufficient parking and will rely on neighborhood
parking troubles me. We have a parking district in this area to try to mitigate the impact on neighbors. The after
hours and weekend events will not be covered by this. I believe that the existing parking requests also disregard the
safety of students. Much thought and effort has gone into the stadium but there is not a master plan for the total
project.
There is a master plan for the new school. The plan for the new high school has addressed student safety, parking
and neighborhood impacts. I'm shocked that the "old" high school isn't being given the same attention to detail. Both
of these schools should be held to the same standards that are required of any structure built in the city. I urge you
deny any exemptions and to demand a total master plan for each school before construction can begin on each
individual school.
