I strongly support a $15 minimum wage for city employees . It looks like Terry Cunningham
is a leader and not afraid to rock the boat on this issue. People are struggling everyday to makeit in this town. i just checked the apartments for rent and was amazed at how much prices have
gone up. When you subtract taxes from a $15 wage , over half will be paid for monthly rent ifyou consider a single person in a one bedroom apartment (most $1,000+). Then subtract
utilities, phone, Wifi , food, gas, clothing, HEALTH INSURANCE, etc. and not much (if any)is left to pay for anything like car repairs or their most likely very high health insurance
deductible. And wouldn't it be nice if they had a tiny bit left over for entertainment?
So many Bozeman employees are forced to move to Belgrade for a lower rent and then theyhave the extra expense of gas and wear and tear on their car from driving into town everyday.
Do the math, have a heart-help make someone's life a little better. These are our kids who
grew up here and can't afford to live here. These are our neighbors and friends. The city needsto lead the way on this.
Thank you Terry Cunningham for not following protocol, acting out of order, doing what it
takes to help others.
