I would beg to differ and this year proves that. When it comes to protecting Bozeman City Hall how about trying to fix the creek. There have been many suggestions on how to do that from many resources. This is important now since it is designated by FEMA to be in the flood zone. What about fixing the antiquated Creekside Park? Beautify it and update it to code whilst being proactive with life safety issues on the housing north of the park. That housing all there is at great risk year round as a result of current conditions. This has been told to neighbors by FEMA. I would also reiterate, all of the rip rap on that park and north on Rouse was installed without federal permits by the City of Bozeman. I have pictures and notarized documents to prove that. As a result when the next unpredictable flooding happens all neighbors North of that park will have potential claims against the City of Bozeman. That creek has flooded 26 times in 100 years. I would say it would be time to clean it up and fix potential liabilities and address life safety issues.
