MacDonald - Kagy Crossroads Zone Map AmendmentTo: The City of Bozeman Re: Proposed Zoning Change on 5 Acres May 31, 2018 I have been given notice of a proposed zoning change on the land adjacent to our Kagy Village Apartments on Remington Way. This is the land bordered by Kagy, Stockman, 22nd Ave S and Remington. The request to change the zoning from B2 to B2M is an attempt to circumvent the approved zoning. The current B2 is somewhat of a transitional area coming off South 19th with a busy church with a day care/school, existing apartments and quiet offices along narrow streets with parking on two sides that gets high usage. Adding higher density zoning does not fit and negatively impacts all current property owners. I have significant concerns for the safety of all those who live, work and visit there if a higher density than currently approved is allowed. I would ask that any development of this land be required to make their major access off Kagy for the reasons mentioned above. Stockman’s Way is little more than an alley and Remington is too narrow to handle the traffic. I would also ask the Streamline Bus service to make a stop in this area. A lot of work has been put in by the city historically to figure out zoning and parking. I have been in the development business for many years in Bozeman and find the parking standards to be tight. Every time I’ve seen exceptions made in relaxing parking standards, it has created problems for the neighboring homes, businesses and establishments. Please vote no on the proposed zoning change.
