SUBJECT: Authorize the City Manager to execute the Baxter Lane (U-1218) Corridor, North 19th Avenue to North 7th Avenue, Maintenance
Agreement
AGENDA ITEM TYPE: Consent MEETING DATE: June 4, 2018
RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the City Manager to execute the attached City/State Memorandum of Agreement, Baxter Lane (U-1218) Corridor, North 19th Avenue to North 7th Avenue, Maintenance Agreement, with the Montana Department of Transportation (MDT).
BACKGROUND: The City has secured a contractor and funds have been budgeted to complete
the construction of Baxter Lane from North 19th Avenue to North 7th Avenue. The project will be constructed this summer. Because Baxter Lane is an Urban Route (U-1218), the city is required to agree to the conditions in the attached Memorandum of Agreement. The agreement
has been exhaustively reviewed by the legal department as well as by the Engineering Division.
The responsibilities detailed are identical with activities we are already performing, hence we are
recommending entering into this agreement. UNRESOLVED ISSUES: None.
FISCAL EFFECTS: None.
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission.
