Task Order with Tetra Tech for Bozeman Landfill System Evaluation Commission Memorandum REPORT TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commission FROM: Rick Hixson, City Engineer SUBJECT: Authorize the City Manager to execute the Task Order for Modification to the 2018 Operation and Maintenance Task Order to Address Recommendations for System Evaluation at the Bozeman Landfill AGENDA ITEM TYPE: Consent MEETING DATE: June 4, 2018 RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the City Manager to execute the attached Task Order for Modification to the 2018 Operation and Maintenance Task Order to Address Recommendations for System Evaluation, Bozeman Landfill. BACKGROUND: The purpose of this task order is to implement Recommendations 2, 4, and 5 from Tetra Tech's Initial Remedial System Evaluation Report, dated March 9, 2018. These recommendations are directed at improving the effectiveness of the landfill gas extraction systems currently operating at the landfill. The task order includes the following three tasks: 1) Evaluation of the Radius of Influence for the Soil Vapor Extraction Wells 2) Installation of New Landfill Gas Extraction Well and Pump to Replace Groundwater Well 18 3) Conduct a Surface Emissions Sweep of the Landfill Cover UNRESOLVED ISSUES: None. FISCAL EFFECTS: The cost of this work will be $51,753.00. This work will be paid for with solid waste funds. ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission.
