MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
It is understood between the City of Bozeman and the Montana Public Employees Association, that as
of this date current employees of the City of Bozeman, Building Inspection Division, specifically
Building Inspectors/Plans Examiners, shall receive in addition to his/her regularly established monthly
pay a 4% pay enhancement for each required certification for a maximum of a 16% pay enhancement
for Building Inspectors (ICC Commercial Building lMpedor, Commercial Electricallnspedor,
Commercial Mechanicallnspedor and IAPIIO Plumbing Inspedor) and 20% p;Iy entIanc;ement for Plans
Examiners (lCC Commercial Building Inspector, Commercial Electrical Inspector, Commercial
Mechanical Inspector, Building Plans Examiner and IAPMO Plumbing Inspector). The ft. pay
enhancement for each certification is to be paid as they are earned. Newly hired employees will receive
4% ply enhancement as stated above and any required certifications obtained prior to City employment

any required certifications obtained after the candidate has been hired, that the City has funded, must
be followed by a minimum of six (6) months of employment for -=it rwquired ~tifiuIion. Upon

funded costs will be recovered at a rate of sn. of the actual costs prorated based on the employment
