COMMUNITY oLLAI' -=
We are among the 26 residents living within 200 feet of the site of the new high school. We are
writing this letter to express our displeasure regarding the proposed zoning exemptions.
(Application 18085)
Is there a purpose for these exemptions? While we find all of the exemptions objectionable,
we are especially concerned about the exemptions of Sec. 38.26.050.C.2.a.(1) requiring parking
lot screening when adjacent to Residential Zone. Trees and landscaping will help maintain our
property values, as well as add to the aesthetic value of this project. These zoning codes serve
a purpose, and we find it difficult to understand how they are so easily exempted for such a
large project. Please reconsider!
We are both strong advocates of public education and have supported Bozeman public
education for many years. While I (Joni) am not delighted with the idea of living across the
street from the new high school, I felt confident that the city would make it as positive as
possible for current residents. These proposed exemptions are very upsetting. Again,we
implore you to reconsider.
Sincerely,
Joni Quenemoen
