Minutes of Meeting March 27, 2018

Public: Gregg Alexander (Prime, Inc), Cindy Andrus (City of Bozeman), Dax Schieffer (Voices of
Montana), Kevin Black (Tournament Committee), Bill Mills (AZ and Company), Melanie Stocks
(MSU), Mike Jarrett (Bozeman LaCrosse), Brooks Emeny (Bozeman LaCrosse), Kathy (Bozeman
LaCrosse), Leslie (Livingston Chamber)
• At 12:05 pm, the TBID Meeting was called to order
• Introductions
• Disclosures – None
• Minutes from previous meeting – No meeting in February, so no minutes
• Public Comment – None
• Bill Mills from AZ and Company presented the financial audit. He reported a few
findings from the audit that the TBID could improve upon. Motion to approve internal
audit by Andrew, second by Lisa. Motion approved.
• Kevin Black and Melanie Stocs gave an update on the Gallatin Valley Tournament
Committee. They shared the list of tournaments they will be bidding on for the 2019-
2020 school year. These bids are due April 6. If all bids are accepted, the total TBID
funds required would be a maximum of $118,500. Andrew motioned to approve up to
$118,500 to the Tournament Committee from the 2018 fiscal year budget. Second by
Eric, motion approved.
• Gregg from Prime, Inc. gave the marketing report and website update. Overall traffic to
the website is up 64% through March 24, 2018. Almost 52,000 FaceBook followers, and
3,600 Twitter followers. Gregg shared the new winter video with the group
• Brooks presented the grant request for the MHSLA High School State LaCrosse
tournament, which will be held May 18 and 19, 2018 in Bozeman. They are anticipating
250-400 room nights, and are seeking $8,250 in TBID funding. Andrew motioned to
approve $7,000 in TBID funding for the MHSLA High School LaCrosse Tournament.
Second by Lisa, motion approved.
• Brooks presented the grant request for the MLA Youth State LaCrosse tournament,
which will be held June 1-3, 2018 in Bozeman. They are anticipating 250-400 room
nights, and are seeking $18,250 in TBID funding. Larry motioned to approve $9,000 in
TBID funding for the MLA Youth State LaCrosse Tournament. Second by Carl, motion
approved
• Dax Schieffer from Voices of Montana gave an update on the impact of tourism to
Bozeman and Montana. ITRR estimated that the impact of non-resident tourism to
Montana in 2017 was $3.4 billion.
• Daryl gave the Financial Report. Andrew motioned to approve the financial report as
presented, second by Larry. Motion approved.
• Other business – None.
• Motion to adjourn by Andrew, second by Eric. Motion approved. Meeting adjourned at
1:56pm
