I am by no means reporting a crime however I am writing to you in hopes to get a better understanding on why no charges were filed against the party thatdid the crime. I had recently talked to a officer in Bozeman and was told that because my son was not in a domestic relationship or related to the person that there will be no charges filled. So your telling me that if they were related or in a relationship she would be charged with a partner or family member assault. What is the difference? A gun is a gun and has nospeculation on if they are related or not. They were roommates and regardless she should have been charged with assault with a deadly weapon. She was only told not too do it again. Nowwith everything that has come with guns and all the Innocent loosing their lives behind guns why is it OK for this to go unnoticed. There is allot of what ifs in my head and I and my childare relived that nothing did happen. What I have a problem with is the fact that no charges were filled and this person still has the weapon and got away with it. So what happens if shereally pulls the trigger on someone else? The real question will be why didn't we do something about it when it happened the first time. This is not close to what has happened in our schoolsbut it is a very good example of what did take place. The FBI and local pd knew about the individuals and did nothing to prevent it from happening. Not saying that the person will goafter someone else just stating that this person should be charged with a felony of assault with a deadly weapon. To me this person knows she can get away with it and will do it again justbecause of that. Is that the way our world is cause if so things need to be changed and laws need to be rewritten. SOMETHING HAS GOT TO BE DONE ON THIS MATTER. I WILLKEEP PUSHING THIS UNTIL SOMETHING IS DONE. I COULD HAVE LOST MY SON BEHIND STUPIDITY AND IT WILL NOT GO UNNOTICED! WHAT IF IT WAS YOURCHILD THAT THIS HAPPENED TO WOULD YOU IGNORE IT BECAUSE I MYSELF CAN NOT. Thank you for your time and hopefully this will get handled in the way it should have been in the beginning
