F. Action Items
1. Discuss a possible new board member
06:04:25 PM (00:03:27) Board members discussed this action item and detailed open positions on the Board.
2. Budget
06:08:39 PM (00:07:41) Mr. Gonzalez and Board members discussed the action item and expected timeline for
creating the budget. Board members spoke about the budget for historic inventory project with regards to fiscal year
2018 and 2019.
3. New Historic Districts
06:22:46 PM (00:21:48) Board members discussed the action item and the process that the national-level or state-
level (SHPO) nomination process would entail. Mr. Gonzalez described the different types of historic registrations,
including individual properties and districts, and the process to nominate homes or districts. A Fred Willson District
(multi-property nomination) was a main topic of discussion.
06:42:10 PM (00:41:12) Public comment. Jenny Lee, 322 North Tracy Ave., stated that the addition of more
historic districts will help with the Certified Local Government status which could open more funding opportunities.
A discussion by board members on the action item followed.
4. 1984/1983 Inventory Data
06:46:23 PM (00:45:25) Phillipe Gonzalez, Historic Preservation Specialist, introduced the action item and spoke
about steps moving forward for future inventory data collection within the Neighborhood Conservation Overlay District.

5. Preservation Awards

Award Nominations
06:57:40 PM (00:56:42) Phillipe Gonzalez, Historic Preservation Specialist, introduced the action item. Board members
discussed the award nomination form and evaluative criteria for nominations.
07:18:29 PM (01:17:31) Public comment. Jenny Lee, 322 North Tracy Ave, asked if there was a reason when the awards
are being restricted to the City of Bozeman geographic limits. Board members responded.
07:19:29 PM (01:18:31) Board members spoke about renting an event space for the awards (Story Mansion).
07:25:50 PM (01:24:52) Board members discussed avenues for advertising the event.
07:35:14 PM (01:34:16) A Board member presented a summary of member’s tasks to complete for the January Board
meeting. A general discussion followed.
6. Neighborhood Coordinator
07:36:40 PM (01:35:42) Announcement that at the next meeting, the Neighborhoods Coordinator will give a presentation.

1. Board questions and general discussion
07:37:08 PM (01:36:10) Board members discussed the timeline of Neighborhood Conservation Overlay District (NCOD)
Design Guidelines rewrite.
07:39:50 PM (01:38:52) The City of Bozeman Strategic Plan was discussed, including its contents and anticipated timeline
of adoption.
07:43:32 PM (01:42:34) Board members discussed the request to support the “Extreme History Project – House History
Workshop”.
07:49:16 PM (01:48:18) Board members discussed the offer from Metcalfe Archeological Consulting to provide assistance
from Astrid Livermann.
07:49:38 PM (01:48:40) Public comment. Jenny Lee, 322 North Tracy Ave, spoke to the offer from Metcalfe Archeological
Consulting with more detail. General discussion by the Board followed.
