First Name Ryan Last Name Galloway Email ryanmooregalloway@gmail.com Questions or Comments Hey there, thanks for all your hard work in making Bozeman a better place to live! Just as some background, I did my undergrad at MSU in physics, my masters at MSU in optics, and currently work for Blackmore Sensors and Analytics. I try to bike to work as often as possible and recreate in my free time as much as possible (biking, skiing, climbing, hiking). I am extremely invested in the health of this town, and I would love to see it get even better. One of my main concerns is how relatively dangerous it is to bike in town. One of the main issues isn't necessarily the infrastructure, but the knowledge of drivers and bikers alike on how to share the roads. For example, I know very few people who know that the bicycle double arrow symbol means (that bikers can take up the whole lane). Some sort of public education initiative on how to drive around bikers and how to bike around cars would be extremely helpful. One other idea I had recently was that we are lacking a community space for people to hang out in and play board games or other small public gatherings. I thought that the old train station could be renovated to bring back some of the history and increase growth on that side of town as Wallace and the cannery district become more popular. Here are some of my more random/maybe not very feasible ideas: *Work with MSU to help stop the "brain drain" where smart students graduating from MSU cannot find a job in Bozeman pertaining to their degree, and end up leaving the state. *Limit the sprawl with different zoning restrictions *Consider underground parking as a solution for new highrise buildings downtown *Divert traffic from main street to make it more pleasant to be downtown *Create a network of paved bike lanes that are separate from the roads *Create incentives for using other forms of transportation *Encourage more small grocery stores around town that are walking distance from densely populated areas *Create more affordable housing in town *Build an ice climbing music venue at the fairgrounds! *Put a noise limit on loud trucks? *Bring the Bozeman creek back to the surface of main street? Thanks again, and please let me know if I can help out at all! ~Ryan Thank you, City Of Bozeman This is an automated message generated by the Vision Content Management Systemâ„¢.
