Hi Chris,
It was discussed last year that we would revisit the Mobile Vending regulations for 2018. The fashion truck took the
biggest hit with the new regulations. Here are he main reasons they didn’t work.
1. Parking is already tight downtown- so anytime we attempted to park on side streets it just was never feasible.
Bike racks took up majority of prime spots.
2. 9pm onward didn’t work
3. With the 9pm onward and the $500 permit. I utilized maybe 6 times. So permit is way too high at least for retail.
If we pay $500 I propose, retail trucks get a special use permit for specific areas. More than just SorOptimus Park. I
am the only retail truck now, and I’m asking for some help. My business will only thrive with walking traffic.
4. Regulations put the other fashion truck out of business (Moda Fashion Truck) was forced to sell her business
because of city regs.
5. Can we have retail trucks from 5pm onward. I believe that’s only fair given my line of business. For 2018 that’s
only ONE truck.
