PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Describe present appearance of structure/site,then contrast and compare that with it's original appearance, noting additions,alterations,and changes in materials. Discuss significant architectural features. This detached two-story single-family residence has a rectangular plan with a gable-roofed front porch with solid railing . The three-bay facade is asymmetrical and consists of an off-center front entrance with fixed and casement windows, 10-paned and four-paned. The frame construc- tion is finished in aluminum siding and rests on a concrete foundation. The gable roof is covered with brown asphalt shingles and features overhanging eaves and a metal stovepipe. The axis of the main roof is perpendicular to the street. Outbuildings include a garage. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Justify how the persons,important events,and/or historical patterns associated with the structure/site and surrounding area lend the property significance. It is one of several built by local builder Lou F. Sievert in Bozeman in the 1930' s. In 1940, William H. Vance, a teacher at the Gallatin County High School , was living here.
