PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Describe present appearance of structure/site,then contrast and compare that with it's original appearance,

This detached one-and-one-half story single-family residence has a rectangular
plan with a shed-roofed enclosed front porch. The one-bay facade is asymmetri-
cal and consists of an off-center front entrance with fixed and 1/1 double-hung
windows . The frame construction is finished in bevel siding with stone
on the porch. The structure rests on a concrete foundation. The gable-shed
combination roof is covered with roofing tile and features dormers. The
axis of the roof is perpendicular to the street. Outbuildings include a garage.
There is a shed-roofed addition to one side.
HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Justify how the persons,important events,and/or historical patterns associated with the structure/site
and surrounding area lend the property significance.
This residerrce was built by the Reverend George Comfort, an early Methodist
minister. Born in 1831 in Pennsylvania, he spent two years at a seminary
and answered the roll as a Methodist missionary to Montana in 1868. He
settled in Bozeman about 1878 and served a term as minister of the Methodist
Episcopal Church.
This structure is an intrusive element within a potential histor-ic' district.
