This house is among the oldest in the district . Whether the house was built in connection with a small subsistence farm or merely as a residence in a newly developing part of town , is unknown . From about 1912 to 1927 , Harris Kirk , a rancher , was living here . By 1933 , he , and his wife , Elizabeth B . Kirk , had moved to 1301 W . Babcock . The house design is similar to "House Design No . 1020" in Hodgson ' s mail order house pattern catalog . Bibliography ' Record of Water Service , Ap . 29 , 1949 , E . F .
