This detached two-and-one-half story three-family residence has a square
plan with an open front porch under a flat roof. The porch is of very
unusual shape. The three-bay facade is asymmetrical and consists of an
off-center front entrance with 12-paned fixed and 1/1 double=hung windows.
The frame construction is finished in 8" beveled siding and rests on a
concrete block foundation. The hipped-gable roof combination is covered
with silver shingles and a metal roof over the porch. The roof features
dormers and boxed eaves and an interior brick chimney. There is an
added rear stairway. Outbuildings include a garage.

This property was built for Enoch D. Ferguson , a long-time Gallatin Valley
rancher and Bozeman resident. Born in 1844 in Tennessee, he located outside
of Bozeman in 1869. He held mining interests to Trail Creek over to the
east of Bozeman. He was a member of the 1874 Yellowstone National Park expedi-
tion. Ferguson and his family owned this property for more than thirty years .
