Brittain Department of Sanitation PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Describe present appearance of structure/site,then contrast and compare that with it's original appearance, noting additions,alterations,and changes in materials. Discuss significant architectural features. This detached one-story single-family residence has a square plan with a front projecting gabled bay and a shed-roofed front porch adjoining it. The two-bay facade is asymmetrical and consists of an offset front entrance with fixed and 1/1 double-hung windows as well as a semi-circular fan attic window. The frame construction is finished in wood beveled siding and rests on a concrete foundation. The hipped roof is covered with grey asphalt shingles and features a central brick chimney. Alterations include a separate large two-bay garage. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Justify how the persons,important events,and/or historical patterns associated with the structure/site and surrounding area lend the property significance. Research in the sources consulted in this survey has not yielded any significant historical information concerning persons or events associated with this property. This structure qualifies as a contributing element within a potential historic district due to its association with the residential aspect of the Civic Phase of Bozeman 's historic/architectural development.
