I I Matt Cohen 119 Cleveland Ave. Revision 1985 Like many houses on Cleveland Ave. , this one was built for a faculty member of Montana State College, in this case, R.A. Cooley. Cooley was an entomologist who made significant contributions to the study of ticks and Rocky Mountain fever. The resident listed in the 1933 city directory was a different MSC faculty member, Samuel Sloan, an agronomy specialist. From about 1935 through the 1950's, the Home Economics Department of MSC used this as the "Home Management House", which was used to teach students how to manage a home - apparently a requirement of all majors. The house is a typical vernacular example of the Colonial Revival style of the 19201s. I j Bibliography Application for Sewer Connection: July 15, 1922, R.A.
