This detached one-story single-family residence has a square plan with an
enclosed front porch across the front. The o.ne-bay facade is symmetrical
and consists of a central glass-paned front entrance flanked by fixed 4-pane

and 1/1 double-hung windows. The frame construction ished in bevel
siding and rests on a cinderblock foundation. Th ipped r!oRof is covered
with brown asphalt shingles and features overhanging eav . There is
a central metal stovepipe.

Non-contributing due to alteration to the porch and fenestration, this house,
like several others in town, was probably either built, or later sold, speculatively
by George P. Dier. It is similar to 221 Lindley, next door, and may have originally
been based on a design in Fred T. Hodgson's mail order house pattern catalog:
"House Design No. 1048" (see appendix) .
