Windows are double-hung a ' diamond paned fixed windows in front on the first floor. Tracy Ave. Matt Cohen One of the best remaining examples of the I-House building type in Bozeman, this frame house has the characteristic gable end bay window, as well as the ! two large, eaves front windows, each topped by a leaded transom, and two gable wall dormers, two more unusual features for this building type. A similar, though more elaborate example of the type in the district is 322 N. Tracy. Early history of the house is unknown. From about 1910 to about 1916, Alexander McLain, an engineer, was living here. By 1927, William M. Krause, a laborer with teh Northern Pacific Railroad, was living here. Date MISSOULA, NIONTANA 59307 uTM's:_ AUG 1984 411 North Tracy Avenue This detached one and a half story single family residence has an irregular plan, a gable roofed hooded front entry, features a two level shed roofed porch on the south west corner, and a bay window facing south. A one story addition is to the north. The one bay facade is symmetrical and consists of a central front wood and glass entry with first floor: (multi/2/2)(multi/2/2) diamond pane windows; second floor: (1/1)(1/1) windows. The frame construction is clad in drop siding with corner boards and rests on an extended concrete foundation. The addition is clad in same The gable roof is covered by asphalt shingles, has two gable dormers facing east, boxed eaves, features globe finials at the apices, and has a central brick chimney with at metal cover.
