This detached two-story single-family residence has a square plan with an open front porch supported by a round post adjoining a bay window extension on the front facade. There is an enclosed rear porch (the original open porch has been enclosed) an a bay ndow to one side as wel l . The frame construction has ben `� �'''O'with� wh i � ' and sits on cut stone foundation. The gable roof is covered with ?t asphalt shingles and features a central k chimney. Tracy Ave. 1985 Revision ' Matt Cohen tOriginally identical to 415 N. Tracy standing next to it, this house has had ' its siding replaced. Unlike its neighbor, however, the recessed proch and supporting corner columns remain intact. Both houses have unusual ashlar foundations, and are very significant elements in the historic district. The house was probably originally owned by F.C.Jacobs - either Fred C. Jacobs, who lived on S. Tracy Ave. , or Frank C. Jacobs, a carpenter who lived at 405 S. Tracy Ave. at about the time this building was under construction. Harry H. Williams, a road contractor, was the resident here in 1927. The one bay facade is asymmetrical and consists of an off-center front wood and glass entry with first floor: (1/1)(1/1)(1)(1/1) windows; second floor: (1/1 ,1/1) windows. The frame construction is clad in drop siding and rests on a cut stone foundation. The gable roof is covered by asphalt shingles, has boxed eaves, a skylight facing south, features globe finials at the apices, and has a central brick chimney topped with a metal pipe. The main axis of the roof is perpendicular to the street. Outbuildings include a garage at the south west corner, with a shed roof, frame construction, and clad in clapboard siding with corner boards; a shed to the west, with a gable roof, frame construction, and clad in vertical wood siding; a green house to the west, with a gable roof, metal frame construction, and clad in plexiglass.
